Busy at the Shop

New rugs in the Shop

Its been a busy last couple of weeks!! We've had several pickups with lots of rugs needing repair.  Once we get the rugs in the shop they get a thourough inspection before we clean them.  Once there clean they come up front where we start on repairs if needed. The most common repairs are fixing corners, conservation on ends, replacing fringe and redoing binding.

Over the last couple of years, it has become very popular to remove the fringe all together and bind all four sides.  It's definitely a personal preference on whether or not you like fringe.  Alot of our customers love the way the fringe looks and feel like it's an important part of the rug.  On the other hand, some fringe can be easily damaged while vacuuming or just from everyday wear and tear so many customers find it easier to maintain a rug that is bound all the way around.

Some more intricate repairs include patching holes, cashmering and color correction.  We have a lot of patching material available in the shop that allows us to match rugs beautifully.   We also have a wide variety of wool for cashmering.

If your ever in the shop to drop off or pick up a rug check out our walls that are filled with almost every color wool!!

Improve Air Quality And Restore Your Oriental Rug’s Appearance Like it or not, your oriental rug can harbor dirt, dust, allergens and other airborne contaminants. Regular vacuuming can keep these particles down, but will not remove all of them. Sometimes, it can even disrupt them and send them back into the air, aggravating spring allergies. By having your oriental rug professionally cleaned, not only are you doing your oriental rugs a service, you are also taking a huge step in improving the air quality of your home. When dirt and other debris is tracked into your home, it is ground into the oriental rug fibers, dulling the color as well as the texture. By eliminating these particles with a professional cleaning, you prevent the destruction to oriental rug fibers and restore your oriental rug to a like-new appearance. Your oriental rug is a major investment and performs many important functions, including comfort, insulation and beauty.
