New rugs in the Shop

Its been a busy last couple of weeks!! We've had several pickups with lots of rugs needing repair. Once we get the rugs in the shop they get a thourough inspection before we clean them. Once there clean they come up front where we start on repairs if needed. The most common repairs are fixing corners, conservation on ends, replacing fringe and redoing binding.

Over the last couple of years, it has become very popular to remove the fringe all together and bind all four sides. It's definitely a personal preference on whether or not you like fringe. Alot of our customers love the way the fringe looks and feel like it's an important part of the rug. On the other hand, some fringe can be easily damaged while vacuuming or just from everyday wear and tear so many customers find it easier to maintain a rug that is bound all the way around.

Some more intricate repairs include patching holes, cashmering and color correction. We have a lot of patching material available in the shop that allows us to match rugs beautifully. We also have a wide variety of wool for cashmering.

This morning we visited our good friends at Rainbow cleaners located off Yellow Springs Road in Frederick, MD for a rug pickup We've been working with Rainbow Cleaners for years to make rug drop off and pick up easier for Frederick residents living near Worman's Mill, Christopher Crossing, and Yellow Springs area located in Frederick, MD. Customers can drop off their rug at the cleaners for rug cleaning and rug repair, we then pick up the rug and return it back to the cleaners once it's been and cleaned or repaired. This area of Frederick has really changed over the last several years, so much great shopping and conveniences.
